@bhupal59 We’ve had quite a few questions about this on our website in the Ask the Coach section. Have a look there and you can search the questions. There’s a lot of great information. Also we cover playing against long pimples in our premium lessons.

I want to learn about the anti rubber ( long pimples rubber) and how to play against it with a soft rubber.

@MoltenBiscuit Spin is great for offense and defense. Defensive players often use a lot of backspin though and offensive players use a lot of topspin. The topspin helps the ball dip on the table so you can hit it harder.

There’s not a a lot of room here for answering questions so the best place to go is our website and use Ask the Coach. Then we can discuss these things in greater detail!

@pingskills I bought one recently and I’m getting adjusted to it. I’m seeing if it suits my game, as I’m more of an offensive player than a defensive players.
I have a question though, is spin better for defense and speed better for offense, or is it the other way around?
Also I’m comparing the anti-spin paddle to the one I have, and I don’t think it is. The Stiga Titan has little pimples below the rubber. You can’t see them, but when you push down on the rubber you can feel/see little pimples.

@pingskills To spin the ball good!

pingskills January 24, 2012 at 11:40 am

@MoltenBiscuit Good question. We filmed that video a while ago and I can’t remember what blade it was. Do you use a Stiga Titan?

MoltenBiscuit January 24, 2012 at 12:19 pm

Is the anti-spin paddle the Stiga Titan?

pingskills January 24, 2012 at 12:41 pm

@firendable What’s impossible?

firendable January 24, 2012 at 1:27 pm

IT’S IMPOSSIBLE! I PRACTICED OVER 2 YEARS NOW!

@heyquantboy Thanks!

superb demo

SniperRifle357 January 24, 2012 at 3:12 pm

I have a Yuki Butterfly bat that has a lot of spin.

pingskills January 24, 2012 at 3:25 pm

@tabletennispenhold No, not all long pimples have been banned. There are certain types of frictionless long pimples which have been banned.

tabletennispenhold January 24, 2012 at 3:53 pm

isn’t long pimples banned from ITTF?

@maxk880 There are so many really good brands out there. At PingSkills we don’t want people to focus on the equipment. We have tried some rubbers that we know are good and have then available on our website. We don’t want a huge range of equipment on our site. If people are not sure what to use then they can make a simple decision based on a small number of products at PingSkills. If people know what they want then we want them to go ahead and use it. The main point is to focus on your technique

maxk880 January 24, 2012 at 4:52 pm

Hi guys… Why are you always focusing on Yasaka xiom rubbers? Sponsoring? Since the real professionals use andro, joola, butterfly and dhs :p I personally use Joola energy green power it’s the best rubber with speedglue effect in my eyes

pingskills January 24, 2012 at 5:08 pm

@zubairaliamirali it sounds like a reasonable choice. You never really know how it suits you until you try it out. Make sure you stick with the combination for a little while so you can focus on your technique. Good luck!

zubairaliamirali January 24, 2012 at 5:34 pm

@pingskills: thank you very much for your advice. ive decided to go with Tenergy 05(butterfly) for my forehand and for back hand ill go for Mark V. please tell me if you agree with my idea.
i really find your videos helpful to polish my tt skills. thank you very much!

pingskills January 24, 2012 at 6:01 pm

@zubairaliamirali There are so many good choices. We recommend a few rubbers on our website. It sounds like Mark V would be good on your backhand and maybe Yasaka Pryde on your forehand. If you want some more opinions try asking a question on our website.

zubairaliamirali January 24, 2012 at 6:57 pm

i really like your video…it is surely helpful….
i am not exactly a defensive player..for my forehand…i concentrate a lot on smashes and top spin…..but for my back hand..i want to concentrate on placement, chops and flicks….please tell me what kind of rubber shall i use for my back hand???….
please do keep up the good work!!!

andreiskater007 January 24, 2012 at 7:02 pm

and then …why proffesional players have anti spin ruber?

pingskills January 24, 2012 at 7:51 pm

@zaphster11 Sorry I’ve never heard about it. If you want some more opinions you could ask a question to the Ask the Coach section of our website and we could ask all our readers if they have used it.

zaphster11 January 24, 2012 at 8:11 pm

is Dunlop Venom Power a good rubber??????????

iandemagi January 24, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Except some of the top modern defenders are now using short pips on their backhands for more attack .

xBarneyCalhounx January 24, 2012 at 9:03 pm

You gotta work more on your long pimple!
